Maybe I just got lucky. I'll have to see if there's any real info out there proving it's bad. What's the argument against it? The only thing I can think of is loosening up sludge around seals when switching to synthetic. That shouldn't cause failures. I think it's all hype. No offense but just because your family members are certified mechanics, it doesn't mean they know shit about oil characteristics.

Idk pretty much everything ive seen on the issue its not recommended....plus i would hope mechanics would know enough about oil characteristics otherwise it would be kinda dumb to get oil changes and work done by them...im not saying they know everything but if they would advise against doing certain things to provide longevity of a vehical im gonna take thier advise
