Plus had a bike that ran synthetic in it and threw regular oil in it and with in a week the motor was garbage and thats just a quinky dink right? I've done it in bikes and cars. I've never had an issue.
Maybe I just got lucky. I'll have to see if there's any real info out there proving it's bad. What's the argument against it? The only thing I can think of is loosening up sludge around seals when switching to synthetic. That shouldn't cause failures. I think it's all hype. No offense but just because your family members are certified mechanics, it doesn't mean they know shit about oil characteristics.
