You can switch back and forth from conventional to synthetic in a bike if you would like as well. If you couldn't there wouldn't be a thing as semi synthetic. With the bikes wet clutch you don't want to run car oil because it doesn't have addatives for the plates like motorcycle oil does. However there are people on here who use car oil and don't seem to have any problems
