Go for it then! I rode dirtbikes for like a year before I got my 636 as my first ever street bike. Never even sat on one before. It took me a few practice sessions to figure out I needed a lot more throttle and aggressive clutch action to get the front up that I thought I would need coming off a dirtbike. I was also way thrown off by the steering the first time I took it out on the streets, but I was totally in love!
Now after about 10 months of owning it, and being able to ride it for about a third of that time due to weather or working on the bike I was just starting to pick up circles and drifting... then my motor took a dump and the snow started falling. fml... oh well at least my motor didn't blow in the middle of summer!
