If you just want a commuter and a bike you can ride to the lot and stunt, the 250x is the way to go. That was the sole reason I traded my 450 for one. The x will be much cheaper in the long run than converting an r. Even though they are the exact same bike. the front brakes, rotor, and wheels (front and rear) are different. You'd need to find the caliper (i think the big brake bracket is actually a part of the caliper itself, not positive), wheels of a 250x (I haven't even looked if they make an aftermartet hub/wheel for the 250r since the x is running 17's). Unless you are getting the bike for about $600 - $1000 less, you'd be paying more for the r. Devil's advocate would be that puting the r wheels on is a ton of fun! Not for stunting, but riding the streets to the trails WTFO and jumping the little 250 of a MX jump is pretty cool.
