Since you plan to go into production why not mill an offset in a thicker piece of stock to accommodate the seal?
Unless I missed something, this is the only reason why you trimmed that area of the wheel, correct?
If so, the added materials cost would be made up for in sales... A dual, 4-piston f4i setup that is fully bolt-on using only unmodified OEM parts has yet to hit the market, just sayin
