people dont usually keep race cars and bikes long enough for oxidation to be a problem and in most cases race cars and bikes are moving pretty fast so they get plenty of air across the radiator to keep them cool

Just paint the tanks. Leave the fins bare, and wrap your header with header wrap. My bike doesn't even kick the fan on too often and its normally 90 here in nebraska. Add a little engine ice and you should always be runnin cool

It just makes perfect logical sense to me to keep as many layers of material off of a heat dissipating surface. Heat transfer would happen faster, IMO. Maybe there"s a completely illogical explanation, though. I guess I just don't know.

no im not saying im right just saying there have been articles from reliable sources in the cooling system industry saying a coat of black non metalic paint can help with heat transfer , i dont know if it's true or not

Weight. Don't think I'm kidding either! Same reason Top Fuel dragsters don't coat their chassis". Every ounce counts when it comes to race teams w a real purpose and real money behind them. Also in most Motorsports there is a decent amount of speed to cool them down, unlike our "sport"

+100 the sides r what you see the most any ways and they dont transfer heat like the fins do.
