I have been using 520 chains on all my bikes since I started ridien. Never snaped a chain. i will say this if it snaped at the master link then it was pressed wrong! Hope you fix it. Sucks when stupid shit like that happens and causes big issues

UPDATE
Swapped the lower case 2 weeks ago, It actually wasnt that hard like HyperMike said the only thing that made it a bitch was I was doing it in the bed of my truck in 90deg Florida weather while getting rained on every 30 minutes. If I had a garage to do it in it would of been cake. But I got everything back together finally last night and took it out today and everything worked good no leaks anywhere. It was getting kinda hot but its 93deg out so its understandable, The only problem I couldn't figure out is the FI light but I think its something small cuz the bike didn't act to different. Thanks HyperMike for talking me into doing the swap u saved me 500-600$ I was about to spend on a new motor
