See I dont like that sinking feeling when you brake hard either, but I like the bounce for certain other things......ugh, the decisions

You can go ghetto and wrap the spring with a tire tube like people do when the shock blows out OR you can redrill your shock linkage so that the mechanical advantage to your shock is lowered. Helps stiffen it up a pretty reasonable amount for freeeeeee. I've done it to like 3 f4i's and it works great

Damn, thats sounds like a winner! I was just thinking that people must b doing something to stiffen em up, any chance u can post up a pic?

Front forks: all the way in untill they bottom out on the top and bottom adjustments, then backed them all out 3 clicks. That gives a very consistant feel in the rebound and compression. I HATE fast compression on my stoppies., A nice solid and even up and down IMO feels best.
Rear Shocks:as tight as they go till they blow, the tighter the rear susention the more throttle and brake input the rider will notice. Nardeen links change the way the stock rear shock operates on an f4i, so you can actually run a little softer setting to get a smoother but still very responsive feel

what about for bunny hops?
01-29-2013, 05:53 PM
you dont want to set your suspension up for bunnyhops, more rebound in the rear would help that but i wouldnt do anything to make bunny hops better cuz everything else will sacrifice for it, not worth it IMO for a corny little 2 inch bunnyhop. add tons of rebound and i bet you could get um pretty high i just wouldnt leave your settings that way

with my rear suspention at the factory setting i can hop over a 2L soda bottle sitting upright, i could also do the bunny hop cluch up things Bill D does, but not with it harder

need a pic of that cuz thatd be sick to see it clearin a soda bottle
