f4i fuel leaking from around fuel pump?

I'm checking to see if other f4i riders have had this problem? I came across it simply because I was smelling fuel so after looking around I noticed it under the tank and where the seal is for the fuel pump, it is all wet with fuel. I didnt notice any significance in how my bike was running tho. Have any of you guys had this occur on your f4i's and how major/minor of a problem is this ? Does any thing else go bad or would it just be most likely the gasket?

just the gasket. get a new one or ive heard of people putting jb weld on, then the seal. i dont know about all that though.

make sure when you put the gasket on you tighten the bolts in a cross pattern so they are all even

have you recently taken the sender unit out? It you dont put it back in the same way it same out the gasket it form fit and it will leak. It will go in upside down.

i had my pump out one time to bang a dent out the side my tank... i dinged the hole where the fuel pump gasket seals.. leaked like crazy..

try to tap it back then get some gasket sealer at the auto parts store the should have some that will hold up to gas

thanks guys. i can get the gasket from Honda for 5 bucks on my employee discount. but If the gasket glue/sealer/maker works well enough I may just do that cuz I've heard its kinda a pain if you dont get it back in right. I should be able to just lift the tank off and go around the gasket there right? Cuz i checked the bolts and they are all torqued down right.

no no no. get the new gasket and do it right. if you half ass it you'll just have to do it again. its not a big deal to pull the tank, pull the sending unti and change the gasket. i did mine like 5 times when i got my bike the tank was so rusty the bike wouldnt even run. and after me cleaning it out my self and it rusting again like over night i took it to a radiator shop and had it coated. if you wanna ride it, fix it right.
