I did the whole job without removing anything but the gas tank to get the side cover thing off the TB. haven't had any issue at all leaving that bracket off I just made sure to zip tie stuff up and out of the way a bit to protect from the heat.
Different question for you tho, did you do anything to stop getting oil in your airbox? I rerouted my hose up around from of the motor by the valvecover and its fine to stunt do circles coasting at 12 etc. Sunday I rode down to the beach and around the circle which is always very slow moving traffic and the bike got very hot in the process. Then on way home I did run it up high in the rpm's a couple short times, last night I noticed I had an airbox full of oil again, I know it wasn't from wheelies cuz I barely did a 100ft sitdown once or twice but nothing long. I think it was more from heat than the rpm's as these bikes are made to run high rpm's and wouldn't think that would be any issue but maybe not. Just curious if you did anything to have that not happen or added a fan or anything like that. i'm runnin 14.47 gearing to be able to circle well without stalling so easy but anything over 60mph starts turning rpm's a bit but I ride to and from work daily and never have an issue. I ran it up to probly 75-80 once or twice but didn't hold it there at all, actually pulled clutch in and coasted back to 60mph both times. Its buggin the shit out of me tho.
