Criticism coming from somebody who chooses to generalize... Great work, you hunted down a video in which military action was taken RIGHT AFTER hurricane Katrina. Don't go comparing apples to oranges, it'll get you nowhere. The crime rate during that brief time period was sky high with looting, burglary, and not just sneaky shit it was violent crime. Military action in this case is necessary, and they did have the citizens' best interest in mind. That's what they're their for, WHEN SHIT HAPPENS. And so you know, crime rate dropped significantly because of their involvement. Then a year later it went back to the same shit.
I'm referring to the government actually taking power over our rights when no dilemma is present. People can stock on guns all they want, hell i have one now. But i'm not going to build up a giant stash in case I have a shootout with those who are sworn to protect us. Why? Because it's not going to happen. If anything ever happens, it will be because of our actions on a community level. Just don't act like a psycho gun crazy anarchy'd-out couch militant and all will be fine.

Well of course it'll collapse, nothing is meant to stay consistent forever. So aside from 2008, hell yeah there will be more economic downturns. Each generation is going to come with a stage of greed amd excess investment. Everyone wanted a $300k+ home, so everyone got a 300k+ home. Then it all crashes and we humble ourselves again for the next 2 or 3 decades.
Amd I do see where you are going with this. Could everyday essentials one day become unavailable? Yeah, but I doubt it'll be anytime in my youth. Not to sound ignorant, but I just dont see it happening. In the event it does, I dont imagine people choosing a side and going toe to toe, in that case most will just supply for themselves and loved ones. More of a everyman for himself, charity starts at home sorta deal. And in that event it wouldn't know what would come of it, thats because I dont give it much thought.

You won't sound ignorant until it actually happens. Don't get me wrong, I hope it doesn't happen. But anyone who pays attention to our current financial, economic and political situations, knows better. Those that DO think about it, prepare. A person's preparation is sure to include plenty of ammo, to protect themselves against the unprepared.
I do keep up with political and economic situations on the daily. I wouldn't be much use in my job if I didnt know what direction the market was headed each day. I see bank lending strategies, I book these loans, I see how much risk each bank is willing take when they generate new money thru Ioans and lines.
As far as arming yourself, I obviously cant get thru to anyone. In what scenario do you find yourself protected by having a huge arsenal?

Reference the Katrina example, the government would stop it, take your guns, amd with good reason. Like i said, There is no wrong doing when the military took their weapons in that kind of self destructive situation. its actually a great example in regards to what youre talkimg about, those people were stripped of their essentials, doesnt look like those guns helped, huh? There is no situation in which you win. And these are scenarios that haven't even occurred yet. Everyone is playing out the story before any events have even taken place. You want protection? Move to Canada and sit in a room with cushioned walls.
it mean ive made it 20 yrs w/o ever being in an instance where i would need a gun. all the people i know who like or have guns constantly find themselves in positions, or hang out with people who find themselves in positions, where a gun would be wanted. all the ones who dont, dont. i didnt mean neighborhoods specifically, just pointing out the variance.
