The start is the most important part. Thats where the most speed is lost, and thats when the angle changes quickly. But the relativity to balance point isnt even the biggest benefit, traction is. Obviously the front will have more traction since the bike is already leaning forward a little. More traction means you can hit the brake harder at the start, and get it up quicker. Up here in the north, thats a big deal in the winter.

To give a better description of what happens. Lowering the front end brings the wheels closer together the closer together they are the higher the balance point will be. For an experiment try balancing a broom stick by staring only at your hand. Then try it again but look at the other end of the stick. It will balance better the further you look up the stick. Same basic principle. If your forks were 10ft long the balance point would be substantially lower.

But he didn't mention anything about ride height in the front or rear. But I think you're right about lowering the front end and having less compression during pop up

^^ that would make sense just like raising the rear, if you only lower the front the rear is actually higher and will lift easier. I had a 636 lowered just slightly and it hated stoppies.

All in all no clue i'm only here to read loogies comments lol

we can assume that the contact patch will always be directly below the axle. The rake angle can change depending on ride height in front or rear, but the angle between forks and frame will always be the same, so once the rear tire is off the ground, rake angle doesn't matter any more. I drew some lines on this picture to explain why I think BP would be lower with a raised front end.

so it sounds like a bike with a raised rear and a lowered front would come up easily and have a super tall BP
