Private gun sales/gifting??

I have never been asked for ID when buying from a private party. The only time they might ask if if you barely speak english or look sketchy as fuck.

I've always been told at the very least you should right out a bill of sale and get the buyers drivers license number but thats here in VA

Someone asks for my info or to sign papers and they can go eat a dick. I dont legally have to have any paper trails connecting me to the gun so I dont want any.

I guess the only thing you could do is end up registering the firearm with the sheriffs department but you run the risk of getting it confiscated if there's any record on it like being reported stolen. I'm in AL so things are laid back regarding firearms but the only thing I'd do is a bill of sale just for my own record. Other than that there's nothing required.

With any firearms transaction it is the buyers state that you have to abide by. in states like AZ, MT, ID, Co you do not have to register the firearm... and i have personally purchased a firearm out of state and transported it on a plane...

ya thats what i did already. just became an az resident, but in case anyone is wondering, i could not LEGALLY buy a hand gun in arizona while being an illinois resident.
