another 636 fork swap thread

I got some 08 forks/triples and threw them on my 04, the issue I ran into is that the 07-08 stem is shorter than the 03-04.. not quite sure how much as I didn't measure it. Had to subtract a locknut because there's not enough thread due to it being shorter. Anyways my question is should I have my 04 stem pressed into the new lower triple so I can use the newer top triple or is it safe to leave it as is. I figure as long as I have the locknut and top triple bolt tight then there shouldn't be an issue

no no no dood...use the 03-04 upper lower triples..just use 05+ fork tubes/rotors/fender

Haha yeah I still need the rotors/fender... guess it was a dumb question lol
