Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - Clutchup - 12-02-2015 So I finally got my hohey 4piston bracket super excited go to bleed it finally get good and after using it a bit it feels strong but not as strong as people make a 4piston seem. I'm using a r6 master. Also noticed my rotor looks like this I'm thinking the rotor is shit and not getting full contact ... What I guys think? ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - lee majors - 12-02-2015 look like the four piston is making full contact, but maybe the stock isn't. i'd clean the inside of the rotor up with a 80 grit DA and throw some new pads on the 2 piston. not familiar with the r6 master, but with the brembo it didn't really have noticeably more braking power, bet lever feel was a lot better. i previously had a hohey bracket with 2 stock 2 piston calipers and it was kind of an on/off feel which made it very hard to modulate the brake. ebc sintered hh pads work the best and make sure to not get ANY brake fluid on the pads when bleeding. also, after you use it a couple times, bleed it again because air will sometimes get trapped in the junction valve. Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - Clutchup - 12-02-2015 It's got no junction it's the r6 master straight to the 4 piston. Also those marks in the rotor are from the 4 piston because I had the bike running on a stand with the idle up a little and was pumping the handbrake getting it hot then bleeding it I also pulled the caliper off and bleed it also bleed at the master banjo the power is pretty good but if u run ur finger over the rotor its kinda got ribs in it. Should I just give it time and let the pads wear in? Only used the bike for like 5 mins and it was racing out lol couldn't wait to try it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - Larse - 12-03-2015 Are the pads new or used? Wear in the pads or get some fresh and wear them in then it should be fine. I put on a four piston caliper with used pads this summer, took it for a spin and couldn't lock the wheel with four fingers on the brake.. new pads, wore them in and then it worked like a charm Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - Clutchup - 12-03-2015 Yeah used pads I used sandpaper and scuffed the pads and deff feels better I'm Gona try it out today after work and see how it works Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - standupnfall - 12-03-2015 New pads are the business, nothing bites like NEW ones from Honda. Fresh pads will last you a long time, deff worth the $30-$40. Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - Clutchup - 12-03-2015 Yeah I think I'm Gona try new pads and find a used rotor in good shape or might buy a cheap wave rotor off eBay it will be flat and with new fresh pads should bite. I did go out today and try it out and I can lock up the wheel and the lever is not as hard as it running it on a single with adaptor little more softer but deff bites better just people talk about being able to stall the motor and what not and with my idle at 1800 roughly I can bog the motor down but it won't just lock up the motor no problem. With clutch in locks up pretty good. Wish I knew people with a similar setup to see what it's suppose to be like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - Clutchup - 12-03-2015 Haha I said 1800 I ment 3800 hahahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - lee majors - 12-04-2015 you could try putting the adapter back on and link the two if all that doesn't work. Is this why my handbrake sucks!? - supremejets - 12-08-2015 same issue just go with fresh pads |
