i just recently replaced my oem clutch on an 01 f4i with an ebc clutch kit.. NOTE: when i torqued the springs down i dont think i torqued it to specific torque
its works fine when im riding normal but when i start to practice a few wheelies and the bike gets hot around 220 and stays around that range then the clutch starts slipping from around 6k-10k
anyone have any idea what it could be? when i try to wheelie the bike barely comes up?
last sunday i was practicing and after awhile it started slipping so i left it overnight ..today i went to ride the bike to see if the problem was still there but it left until i started practicing again

Are you sure the clutch cable is adjusted correctly?

did you soak the fibers in oil before assembly.

Other possibilities:
1. Springs are not torqued as your noted.
2. You're missing a friction disk or steel disk.
3. You're using the wrong type of motorcycle oil.

If I had to guess, its because the springs aren't torqued right. And I always herd go oem

I'd be more inclined to thinking either 1. or 2. if it isn't something as simple as just the cable needing to be adjusted either on the top or the bottom. 3rd option for me would be it's something to do with the stack height if all the discs are there. I have seen it a couple of times that the brand new EBC discs sometimes have a low stack height even compared to a used worn clutch and the pressure plate can bottom out on the basket causing it to slip. In that case we got some slightly thicker steel plates from EBC, 2 of them to be exact, and swapped those out with two of the steels already in use. Damn tight tolerances.
Oh yea man and if you have an RSC or MSR ez-pull, or something else similar, make sure that little adjuster didn't vibrate into the clutch housing and pressing the lever. Seen that happen a couple of times. Just the small little all-thread piece with the nut on it. Here, not sure who's bike this is, but this is the adjuster thing I was talking about. I got in the habit or removing those.
I just installed a rsc today and I love it man I haven't had ur problem lately ill have to wait until tomorrow when I really practice clutching it up

Also I noticed a small scratching sound when it's in neutral or low idle until I start to press the clutch the sound goes away i did a little research and I read something about a spacer ring that goes with the first friction plate and there was a second ring don't exactly know if I installed them right I believe I did . I should download the service manual . Can anyone tell me If that could be a problem or what their exact purpose is?
