Best wheelie approach - Petey - 11-06-2012 If anyone saw my build, I just got done with my 50 and now need to go hit the streets and practice. My only question is whats the preferred method of popping up the front wheel? I've never rode anything without a clutch... so not sure if just powering up is the method or popping into second with throttle open? and is the second method bad for the bike at all? heres a video of me when I took it out for the first time, I did the clicking into second with full throttle. not to impressive but I figured it was something. Best wheelie approach - StrictlyStunt - 11-06-2012 Don't correct with your body. Stay on the gas and use the brake when your gut tells you to lean forward. Best wheelie approach - Schwasted - 11-07-2012 just yank that shit up and use the brake, keep your body back like he said Best wheelie approach - Petey - 11-07-2012 Ok, so don't click to second to pop it up? just yank up and give it gas. Best wheelie approach - Bray - 11-07-2012 yep Best wheelie approach - broham - 11-07-2012 sit on the back of the seat and yank it up Best wheelie approach - Schwasted - 11-07-2012 me and my buddys all ride different, one holds it in false neutral then drops it into gear, i used to yank it up and still do sometimes, but my buddy showed me the clicking into gear technique and I do that in any gear. first to second is the easiest though, just keep on the throttle Best wheelie approach - ajbsays - 11-08-2012 its all in how you move your body, its all in shifting weight/ yanking up, the problem with flooring it and banging second is sometimes it will flip. lol and yes false neutral is fun!!!! Best wheelie approach - Petey - 11-08-2012 Alright. Tomorrow ill do some practice, gopro included of course. Best wheelie approach - CheddarBob - 11-08-2012 i do the same shit when i do first gear wheelies i'm teaching myself to do this what i do mainly is pop it into second stand on the back pegs and a combo of abs and gas get the front end up, i've spent hours riding around in a parking lot doing this and i'm just barely getting the point where i've rolled a couple of of ok wheelies for a short distance. i need to have someone film with with my camcorder. question to the 50 killers on here, is it easier to wheelie on super moto tires rather than dirt tires? |
