all out f4i rebuild - -william- - 10-17-2012

i'm gonna rebuilt it and all i can think of is:

-rsc clutch
-rsc subcage
-a fork rebuilt
-redo the tank flat whit a mega lip plus some htmoto tank pad
-throttle sync
-second r6 fan
-naarden link
-new brake line
-home made 12 piston and a front dics hb
-redo the seat

did i forgot something?
also are the r6 monoblock caliper better then any other one? i dont remember witch bike had 6 piston radial caliper in the front, would it be better using that for hb, like a 16 piston monster setup

look in the big rotor picture thread, someone was using an older gsxr 1000 6 piston caliper. short thread, should be easy to find

okay, so i have been working on the bike for a couple months. There is a couple pics of it that shows how it whent through the time.

__________________________________________________ __________

so this is how it was when i got it. it's a 1999 f4 with all the f4i fi bullshit...

so thn i took it appart just enough to start the fab
(sorry i don't know how to put the pic right...)

my first atempt at building a subframe

did not like it, shoped it off and started again

as you can see, it's much shorter then the first one. it end up right about where the middle of the backseat is, so if i put my foot on the plate it's exactly like beeing in fis. that's how it ended up looking like. as you can see i made a litle box for the batery and ecu, but changed my mind after that, like after 4 hours of working on it

this is how it looks with the panels and the SS plate

then i decided to make my own rearsets, but i choped them after, they are not that long.

one of the few parts i bought

then i started to work on tha tank. this is how it was when i got it. it was fine but at 250lbs the foot surface for the frogger was a bit to small, it was painfull for my ankel lol

then i shoped it off

then welded a flat top on it

then added a lip, obviously way to big and dangerous

i don't have a rly good picture of the finished product, you can kinda see it here tho, whit the rest of all the black stuff that goes on the bike...

other partt i bought, triumph 255 mm rotor, like 25$ on ebay. made the adapter for my fti braket. tried to make it so i can take the wheel of without having ot take a caliper off.

then i made myself some 7*

so this is it for the fab work. here are some goodies that came in, plus the new helmet. making the bike the same colors.

then the cleaning process begun, witch made me realize that the motor had suffered from a chain snap in the past but no worries, the engine is okay i did not see any major cracks...

and the finished product

this is all the other cleaned stuff. my mom was pissed about her dishwasher when she knew what i did, she said it smelled like varsol . i decided to take the forks completely apart.

and i decided to fill the back of the fram with fiberglass reenforced bondo. the reason why is that with all the regidity of my subframe and rearset (witch are welded together and brace from one side to an other) i'mscared to brake a tab or something.

so there are the things right after the paint

you cannot rly see it, but it almost matches perfectly. i'v chosen some house of kolor neon orenge paint. The sad thing is that i'm an awfull painter, there is som many runs and spots that are left without paint/clear coat , but still, it's the first thing i ever painted, so i'm still proud of myself. i will be bether next year

so now this is how it sits. I pulled an allnighter on it yesterday cause otherwise it will never be done... here are some pics of the rebuilt i made yesterday.

those picture make it look ugly, but i hope that with some air in the tires, the tank mounted, the ss plate on and the seat it will look beter. there is the rad cage that i'm rly proud of, but i dont have any picture of it, it ways like half of the weight of the old one and it is way nicer.

so here is how it sits right now, i'm gonne keep u posted every weekend, being the only time i can work on the bike...

sry for the bad spelling, i'm not rly good in french (my native language) so it must not be glorious in english....

all out f4i rebuild - f4istunt636 - 03-18-2013

looks good nice work

all out f4i rebuild - Lolletroo - 03-18-2013

Really nice build, love the colors! Only thing i really dont like is the subframe, i mean its a cool fab, but just looks way too big and massive. But it will probably fit better when the bike is fully built, looking forward to seeing this done!
