Bonded title - YSRRider - 10-01-2012 looking at a gsxr frame with a bonded title. What does that mean? How do I find out what the status is, who the last owner is/was and if there are any leans? How do I get a clean physical title in my hand and how much does that cost? I hate craigslist!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bonded title - mofat - 10-01-2012 Bonded title is pretty much a pink slip and not really a title. Kind like a salvage certificate that you can turn into a real title. It's different every state, you'll have to check urs. Bonded title - Topek - 10-02-2012 I don't know but bonded sounds more like its on a lien Bonded title - Shane K - 10-02-2012 A bonded title is another name for a document known as a Certificate of Title Surety. Utilized in lieu of a standard car title, obtaining the bond makes it possible to move forward with registering the motor vehicle with the local Department of Motor Vehicles or DMV. The document also serves as proof of ownership, making it possible to purchase insurance for the vehicle. In other words, the title was lost (basically) and instead of selling with no title and just bill of sale, it comes with a bonded title sayin that the the vehicle belongs to the person it's supposed to and has clean numbers and all that stuff. It benefits the seller cuz it's easy to obtain the title from the dmv and it benefits the buyer cuz they are purchasing knowing that it's not a stolen vehicle or has any legal probs. http://www.ehow.com/facts_5014702_wh...cle-title.html hope that helps bud Bonded title - halfzac - 10-02-2012 I am about to go through the process myself. Picked up a 03 F4i full fairing running w/ 7k miles on it for super cheap. no title, called DMV w/ numbers prior to buying, no bad history and clean numbers. its stripped down and my lot bike right now but im going to make it "legal" lights n what not, n go down n file for the bonded title. Roughly 150 bucks in AZ. inspection and paper work. then its able to be registered, insured. I wouldnt steer away as long as you verify numbers. can come up on a good bike for cheap mine was lowsided, dude was badly injured n left it on an old property when he moved away. Hope that helps. let us know how it goes. i plan on doing a write up w/ the full process once I get through it Bonded title - YSRRider - 10-02-2012 Sounds like its a salvage title then.... he just doesn't physically have the title. Here in IL we have to go through all kinds of shit to get a salvaged bike street-able. Its not really worth the bullshit. The guy says it has a bonded title but doesnt have ANY paperwork on it. Bonded title - halfzac - 10-02-2012 if he already has a bonded title in his possession than the hard part is done. get the vin, all the dmv n ask them to run the numbers. I am from IL n had a vehicle up there w/ a salvaged title before but bought it w/ it already processed. my current f4i has no paperwork what so ever right now, kinda sketch i know but i know the numbers are clean so im not too worried, get to the bonded title in the next month or so. is the deal too good to be true? Bonded title - YSRRider - 10-02-2012 no he wants 675 for the frame with the "bonded title" but he doesn't have this title in his possession, that's where I am lost. How is it a bonded title if he doesn't have it in his possession? I told him to get the papers and I will pay him for what it costs and he replies back, "well if I do all that, then I'm selling it for $200o like the ones on ebay". I told him to eat shit Bonded title - Raf - 10-02-2012 In AZ its basically a clean title. They just run the numbers and make you purchase a surety bond and they give you a clean and clear AZ title. I've done it a million times, no biggie as long as there is no lien and its not stolen. Bonded title - YSRRider - 10-02-2012 can you run the numbers for me? |
