R6 Cage question - Buffalo - 09-27-2012 My buddy has a fi cage on his 05 r6 and the motor mount stripped out.. the FI mounts to the front motor mount and there is a second motor mount right behind it that . Which of the cages mount on the rear motor mount? I think A town and sick possibly. hit me up R6 Cage question - kirny - 09-27-2012 I know atown, tygerhark, sic and possibly a few others but more importantly he should get a new cage because the reason that all these other cages changed their mounting points tithe back is because the front one with crack the head but if he wants to keep the FI all u have to do is drill and tap or helicoil it and he can mount it right there again R6 Cage question - CT Mike - 09-27-2012 yea, get rid of that cage. i learned the hardway with a first gen A-town. Cracked frame and motor head. 2nd gen works perfect tho R6 Cage question - DD_636 - 09-29-2012 i would put a steel thread insert instead of a helicoil. R6 Cage question - M.F. Mall Cop - 09-29-2012 Timesert- Nuffsaid R6 Cage question - zeus_r6 - 09-29-2012 Mine has a helicoil from one of the early cages (not atown) tearing out the threads...been holding up rock solid so far with the newer style atown
