Spreader stoppies/stoppie tips - Deshi Kicks - 07-21-2012 Who does spreader stoppies? This guy. Who does them intentionally? Not this guy! So last night me and a buddy were riding through town, and coming up on a light I decided I'd do a small bullshit stoppie. I don't roll them as I don't have a stabilizer, but I do roll them just enough to where I can set the asd end down without it just slamming. Anyway, coming up to the light I didn't slow down as much as usual (like I said, planned on a little stupid stoppie). Got side tracked and wound up too close to the light, kept with my plans, and grabbed the front brake. I thought I was going over, flew out of my seat and up into the air, and threw my legs out so they could get around the bars and I wouldn't eat road. Well, I landed on the tank when I reached was almost at peak height, rolled maybe a foot in the spreader position, then the ass end came down (I let off the brake almost entirely). I think it's safe to say I'm never having kids. But anyway, what's a good stabilizer? I ride an 09 zx6r if that matters. And once I do finish getting the bike all set up, throw me some good stoppie tips. How high is high enough, how to get it up without slamming on brakes etc. I'm a big dude, like 6'4" and 350ish. My arms are sore from last nights incident, but I think that's mostly because I was holding myself in the air unexpectedly. Any tips are appreciated. Spreader stoppies/stoppie tips - da Liks - 07-22-2012 just get a good damper (Hyperpro,Ohlins,WP,GPR) and a good front tire and some cones. go practice being as smooth as you can. dont do donkeykicks, use some speed.. Spreader stoppies/stoppie tips - ROWDY - 07-22-2012 I do, I do them everyday actually. Straight, 180 and 270 too. I can roll a spreader stoppie almost as far as I can roll a regular one. Get yourself a good damper and a sticky front tire such as a Michelin Pilot Power. Eliminate all of the worries such as tank slap and tire slide and it will allow your to focus on rolling farther and higher everyday

Spreader stoppies/stoppie tips - vollrath - 07-23-2012 i think thats when you do a stoppie but the tire only really comes up once you've come to a stop. Basically rolling a 0' stoppie Spreader stoppies/stoppie tips - Deshi Kicks - 07-23-2012 That's what I want to avoid. Just having a hard time with controlling the front brake properly to where it comes up without stopping almost immediately. Spreader stoppies/stoppie tips - ROWDY - 07-23-2012 Go faster and apply the brake harder, faster. Speed is your friend |
