BirDMaN Progress - BirDMaN420 - 06-02-2012

My 1st stunt session! Tried to make the vid somewhat entertaining since i have 0 skills right now.
Don't have a footbrake right now so i'm just trying a bit of everything atm. Basically shitty pop a stoppies/wheelies in this vid. The following session i started plowing some stoppies at least, super low but much faster and rolling. Got some pretty stupid/funny non-wheelie crashes in the next vid too No time to edit up new video right now, can't even ride this weekend. Exams Will be back at it next weekend though!
I can only ride weekends unfortunately, by the time i finish work it's already dark out and i don't have a safe enough spot to practice at night yet. Gonna try get permission to practice at a nearby small airport at night

Looks like your having fun and that right there is a great start! Haha thought u were gonna crush that little car @30 & 3:30. Love the gopro fender shots! Now get staggered and start learning how to ride them out without picking up speed. Looks like your comfy on the bike so it'll come quick for ya. If you don't have anyone to ride with (stunter) find someone cuz thats the quickest way to progress.
Welcome to the show buddy and remember to just have fun with it for now!

Good to see you on a big bike
Lot looks awesome also. Keep it up and keep us posted. Those pop a stoppies are dangerous and pretty useless also, progress wise. But like you said, speed and rolling them low is where you wanna be.
Have fun!

Haha yeah that was some sketchy shit! That rc car costs almost as much as the bike! And bikes are damn expensive here. I always take mates with just so it doesn't get too boring and for security in case things go bad. I am getting a few mates into the game, they gonna get pitbikes to stunt though, even CRF50's cost lots here Will be much more fun once we have a few pitbikes there and we can all practice together. I'm pretty damn sure there are no other stunters in my province, only know of other guys half way across my country. So right now it's just me, hopefully when i get decent i can inspire some people to try it out

Thanx man, was a lucky find. I really hope no1 ever tries to kick us out from there, so hard to find a good place! Yeah i've learnt from stuntride that pop-a-stoppies are not something to be very proud of haha, was just a bit afraid that 1st day, some good music came on the 2nd stunt session and i started getting more ballsy and picked up the pace a bit. Will keep at it!

Did you asked permission for that lot? Sometimes people are really nice and if you have a permission you can flip off the cops like i do lol.
those pop-a-stoppies will flip real easy.

^^ yea but at the same time, sumtimes they're not so nice and you just spotlighted urself and they know ur in the lot and you lose it....happened to me....no so bad if you have a backup lot, but not cool when it's ur only lot....50/50 chance

I'm not entirely sure who owns it, there are no gates or anything to get to it. I'd assume it belongs to the bank head quarters place next door. I've ridden there 2 days so far, and the 1st day was with a noisy ass RC car and not 1 person has come and bothered us so far.
I'd rather just go with the "oops i didn't know u owned this parking lot" approach incase New Breeds situation happens to me.
If i went there during office hours i'm sure they'd complain eventually, but it seems good on weekend so far
The cops did drive through the parking lot the 1st day actually, but i was out riding the street a bit and when i came back i saw them there and quickly turned around and waited for them to go away. I'm not exactly doing anything illegal there. I'm in an industrial area and i take the bike there on bakkie (i dunno if that's a South African word only? truck?). If they stopped me on the street it'd be a different story, but i don't stop for cops when i'm on a bike since i have no legal bikes or a license

Hell yeah! Looks like we're getting started on 600s at the same time! Your video was a lot better than mine, looks like I'm gonna need to step it up!

BirDMaN Progress - BirDMaN420 - 06-03-2012

Haha dude! Everything u say in your thread is the exact same for me! Also a tall mofo at like 6'4" and came from a dirtbike and not used to such high revs! I short shift so much on the streets, doing a couple drag runs against a RC car has helped me realise there is much more power in this bike than i am harnessing. I've luckily learnt to save myself with the footbrake on a pitbike and the yz250f, not controlled though, just stab it. Have also kinda learnt handbrake on bicycle, hopefully that comes in handy. Used to ride my dirtbike almost everyday on the streets practicing 4th gear fast wheelies :/ Streetbike is totally different though, so much weight! Plus is requires actual skill to go slowly!
I have much more time to edit videos than to ride unfortunately haha. I use vegas pro 11, pretty damn simple once you've edited your 1st video. I just watched some youtube tutorials and have the basics down now. Still time consuming though

haha we could be clones half way across the planet! Funny thing is I have some relatives over in South Africa, too! My cousin and her husband own a winery over there.

4th gear is butter for cruising wheelies on YZ250Fs. I went riding with some friends today after doing another session on my 636. Right after I unloaded the bike I went to do a wheelie in the lot over a puddle and almost looped it because it came up so easy If course there were so many puddles on the trail to wheelie through I got used to doing them on the dirtbike again so I probably blew all the progress I made earlier...
