My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - mart211 - 01-21-2012 Decided to sell the fixxer and get a 636. I thought i got one but seems that i got the even better(i would like to think so ) ZX6RR FF model (Fast as Fuck). ![]() ![]() It's been on the track since day one, has only 4200 miles on it. Been sitting in a garage since 2008, forgot to take a picture of the cooling liquid that looked like diarrhea ![]() I am open to all suggestions what else needs to be done. So far my intentions are- Bracing the frame, subframe. Then paint. Front end swap with 05 forks, brand new calipers and fender. Footplate thru the racing rear fairing so it supports on the subframe. Then all the little things- Kleen air, flipping the stock clip-ons, tank dent + regular maintenance. Gonna keep it fullfairing so still thinking either painting or wraping the fairings. Stunt parts: Cage, subcage, rearset, 60th sprocket, roundbar, hb bracket from Speedy. RSC, Stealthstay upper. 13mm magura with 4 piston nissin for hb. 15mm Brembo for frontbrakes with braided lines. It has all that racing stuff on it, that am gonna sell but am still thinking about power commander. If i do have it and leave it on, get it tuned right for low and mid range...is it worth it? Or do i just sell it? My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - mart211 - 01-21-2012 Taking it all apart yesterday: ![]() Working for 3 days without being able to build the bike is kinda frustrating lol My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - da Liks - 01-21-2012 "all that racing stuff", like what? if it has an aftermarket rear shock or/and front suspension, definitely keep that!!! it's the pc you dont need.. My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - bojangles - 01-21-2012 Zx6rr is what I got and its awesome. My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - mart211 - 01-21-2012 Quote:
People are starting to get me down on the 599ccm part. 2hp difference and i have forged pistons, damper mount on the frame with an awesome hlins. Have you felt the difference in idle pull on 636? I assume there is some but not that much? Edit: Read all the threads on here and kawiforum and it seems that some people say it's better, some say it doesnt pull as much and some people say "eeew slipper clutch" without knowing what it actually does. That 2hp from the crankcase is not a difference imo. ECU seems to be tuned for higher RPM, so that might take away some low end but that is all. Still pulls like a kawi so i think i made a right desision after all. My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - Joe Slow - 01-21-2012 Thank goodnes you got rid of the fixxer Mart! Good luck with this one! I also checked out alot of info and difference between the 636 and the 600. I also think other than the motor its alot better than the 636. And hey if you blow up the motor just pop in a 636 motor. Have read somewhere that ecu works with 636 motor as well but please dont quote me on that as it might be BS. All the best and enjoy this! Im sure your gonna make her pretty now! My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - da Liks - 01-21-2012 slipperclutch is great, 599cc is great just like any other 600, still chugs! racing rearsets are nice (adjustable to your stance) tire warmers are great if you ride shows in colder weather. extra rear rim is great! ditch the rest! My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - SQUINTS - 01-21-2012 You can always replace that motor w/ the 636 zx6r motor and problem solved (im pretty sure?) You may even be able to sell that rr motor... Good for another race bike or race cart. Either way... I think you will like it compared to the gixxer. TonyPrez had the zx6rr frame (not sure of motor) at the last stuntwars. He threw on a nasty stabilizer to that frame mount for the long stoppie contest. Get it set up, keep ur eyes open for a 636 motor and enjoy! My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - !!stretch!! - 01-21-2012 i had an 03 zx6rr 64t made it pull like a champ =) My 04 ZX6RRRRRR project - mart211 - 01-21-2012 Quote:
We're still in progress of making sure its a RR engine, cause you never know. It doesnt have title, documents or any vin number. They havent been removed either, it's a track bike since day one with a only track purpose frame. Google cant help me identify the engine with engine number either. Can someone check their 636 engine number and give me the first numbers/letters? Mine is zx600ae04102. Maybe 636 is zx636....?And thanks Joe!
