hit the back of the cap down first and work it from there you need a good dead blow hammer and try not to let the metal kink if it starts to you need to hit it in that area kinda hard to explain on the internet

If you want it to look good then hit up Legion cause I've seen their tanks first hand and also them dent a tank first hand, and they do it fucking PIMP. :D

ChromeUnlimited.com did mine.. when i got the tank from Teach it was trrrraassshed.. just hammered the hell out of it and used some bondo.. looks nice now.

dont use grip tape either

if I took the time to sand and repaint mine, it would look good, but I'll probably just have it powercoated when I get plastics and paint the bike later this year.
