\r\n \r\n I have never been a huge fan of helicoil it never really holds up for me and always seems to be a temporary fix. Have you helicoiled a motor mount before?\r\n

\r\n \r\n Timesert. They are stronger. Helicoil or timesert your going to have to drop the motor either way.\r\n

\r\n \r\n Im in the same boat with my f4i. Must be a common thing on right side motor mount with si cage? I have pancaked my bike plenty of times this season though.\r\n

\r\n \r\n Yeah I bought the bike with a trashed f i cage. I might try that timesert and let you know how it goes Blizzle\r\n

\r\n \r\n Your saying that you don\'t trust helicoil? But you trust maybe catching a few threads with a longer bolt. Hmmm! Helicoil worked great on my f4i. Never happened again\r\n

\r\n \r\n Considering that putting in a longer bolt takes about 1 minute and a helicoil is gonna take me about 5 hours to drop the motor and do all the work, and there is the chance that the helicoil comes out next time i take my cage off... Yeah I am willing to trust a longer bolt over helicoil for a short term fix.\r\n

\r\n \r\n helicoil is the way to go its actually stronger then the stock threads if done right. i had mine done and my threads were just fine but i seen another guy start to pull his threads out then snapped a bolt off in his motor and i wanted nothing to do with that mess.\r\n

\r\n \r\n just fixed that problem on my bike, but got a new cage. my boss drilled through, put a new longer bolt in, and than put a nut on the opposite side of the bolt, its a pain in the ass too get the nut on, but its better than droppin the motor, mine held like a champ\r\n

\r\n \r\n but he said its on the right side?? there isnt enought room to put a bolt on the end... you can put a bolt on the end of the left side, but not the right... i could be wrong but im pretty sure... also, i\'ve never had to helicoil mine, but my friend just did his literally like a week ago because he bought a motor and the right side was stripped, so i dont know how long it will hold, but its working at the moment.\r\n
