Clutch burnt or Clutch Cable Adjust?? - HOC_Gixxer - 07-03-2011 Hey all Was riding at the lot today practicing staggerd wheelies, the next one i do the front wheelie will barely leave the ground i use exactly the same rpm as usual and it comes straight up no problem but now with the same rpm it hardly comes up at all, i instantly think its the clutch burnt out but i rode home and shifts were fine no noises, but the clutch lever did feel a little looser, is the clutch slippin or anyone have any ideas??? Clutch burnt or Clutch Cable Adjust?? - loogie - 07-03-2011 try to adjust,if it wont work, replace the clutch fibers. Clutch burnt or Clutch Cable Adjust?? - *Gswitch33 - 07-03-2011 Sounds like the clutch. Only takes 20 minutes to replace. Clutch burnt or Clutch Cable Adjust?? - ~03~raven - 07-03-2011 If the lever felt loose then you probably have to much slack in it, so there would be constant tension in the cable and the clutch won't engage. Like loogie said adjust the cable, if that doesn't solve it and the slack in the cable is correct replace the clutch. I'd try both adjustments if you can't get the slack right with just the lever adjuster, should have one on the lever and one on the motor. If you have to mess with the motor one what I do is adjust the lever about half way, then remove the slack on the lower adjustment so your clutch arm is resting where it should then make fine adjustments up on the lever. Clutch burnt or Clutch Cable Adjust?? - maverickxp - 07-03-2011 Before u buy a clutch make sure u check everything. I thought I had a bad clutch once but it turned out that the lever was bad and the cable needed to be lubed and adjusted. Clutches don't just go out. They typically fail gradually. But levers can fail in an instant Clutch burnt or Clutch Cable Adjust?? - HOC_Gixxer - 07-03-2011 Thanks for all the advice will take note and let ya know once i figure it out |
