Clean airmod done wrong and oil overfill Q - Joe Slow - 05-31-2011 Just picked up another F4i this weekend. It is a complete track bike. So I went through the whole bike and came upon the airbox mod that has been done but seems completely wrong. The two reed valves are just connected with one tube. No T joint anywhere. The tube that connects to the rear of the airbox has been removed and hole blocked. That's correct at least. But the frone airbox hole is still open and has the tube connected that goes to the head on the left. Took it for a drive and its got nice power in the higher rpms but lacks down low as when I cluth it for a wheelie it basically stutters a while until the revs get higher then all is fine. The head gasket is fine and bike has been running like this for a while on the track. I intend to change it to OMR airmod spec but just need opinions as to why anyone would do it like this? Bike makes 103hp on a dyno at rear wheel as it is now. 2nd Q: converted my other F4i back to a street ride but still have the oil overfilled. Can it damage my engine when riding at high rpms? Thanx to all Can't post pics of how the mod has been done as I don't have access to a pc for a couple of days. Clean airmod done wrong and oil overfill Q - mikeismee - 09-26-2012 do it the old fashion way.. it works.. all stunters overfill their oil.. i dont know, but i guess if u reach a specific amount of oil, it could damage the engine.. 1L extra oil i am on, and its good. Clean airmod done wrong and oil overfill Q - navajowalks - 09-26-2012 I don't over fill mine... Just make sure its full and not low... Clean airmod done wrong and oil overfill Q - Wheeliest - 09-26-2012 every dyno reads different, its a measuring tool, meant for comparison, not a who makes the highest number game. figuring that a 85hp at the wheel f4i made 100hp on that dyno, stock 05 gsxr 1ks prolly make close to 200hp on that same dyno. if the bike was used for racing, its prolly tuned for racing. which most likely the power commander is tuned at 0%, 2%, 5% and 10% throttle to around %25 for eliminating on off throttle jerk at high rpm. can u screen shoot the pC3 map that its running right now ? Clean airmod done wrong and oil overfill Q - Petomaani - 09-27-2012 Over a year old thread... Joe has stunted and sold that bike, as I recall. Clean airmod done wrong and oil overfill Q - Wheeliest - 09-27-2012 I cant believe i didn't catch that Clean airmod done wrong and oil overfill Q - Joe Slow - 10-01-2012 Quote:
![]() Yes bike was stunted and worked like a charm. But after my accident I had to sell it unfortunately as it was just standing in the garage. Didnt want it to start busting oil seals etc because of standing. Not riding any more sadly. But got me this a month ago: ![]() V8 Goodness!!! Oh in South Africa having a V8 is kinda a big deal lol Keep the front wheel up guys! |
