Friction Zone F'd up?? - SICMikeD - 01-30-2007 Alright here it is.. When my bike is cold and just start it up the friction zone on my clutch lever is almost all the way out where it barely engages.. As the bike warms up and I've clutched a few the friction zone starts moving down closer to the clipon.. After 30+ minutes of riding it is pretty close to the clipon making stahl jump to whatever pretty hard cuz you almost have to pull the clutch to the clipon to keep it from engaging.. This all started after I put in new clutch plates BTW.. I got one suggestion to change the clutch springs, since they may be worn since they never been changed and arn';t working in accordance with the new plates.. IDK it's pissing me off and can't put a finger on what's wrong. Anyone have this problem before?? If so suggestions would be appricated.. An no I'm not going to buy a HONDA. LOL! let your clutch plates wear in a lil bit.... Friction Zone F'd up?? - SICMikeD - 01-30-2007 They have been on for like 2mo now, maybe longer. Friction Zone F'd up?? - Snipes20 - 01-30-2007 Did you make sure you put the rings back in the right way....I know I got mixed up putting that stupid inverted spring ring in the bottom.....what model do you have?? Friction Zone F'd up?? - Snipes20 - 01-30-2007 If it's 929 you gotta make sure that the spring ring then the green ring go in or it'll be fucked up Friction Zone F'd up?? - SICMikeD - 01-31-2007 Nah, it's a gixxer. All that had to be done to change em is, case cover off, 3 bolts that are over the clutch springs with a little cover, take that off and there are the plates. Pulled em off a few at a tim and flipped them upside down as I took em off so they go back in the same way.
