F4i Clutch Arm Mod ... Must Have - M.F. Mall Cop - 05-11-2012 Old thread bump but holy shit this was a fucking pain in the ass do to. F4i Took the clutch cover off, drilled my holes got everything ready to go. Fuck. Damn it, piece of shit, fuck you!!! frames in the way of both the cable bolt and the middle one.. Tightened the 3rd bolt up then swung it in. Then spent about an hour or so just trying to get the other 2 bolts in a space about an inch high. Note to future people doing this. Get actual bolts! Allens fucking suck to work with cuz you have no space to tighten them up. With bolts you and put a little wrench in. As for running a nut behind the allen screw I have absolutely no room to do so I have no clue how this could take 10 min. Took me like 3 fuckin hours to do. 2 of which were spent cursing at the bike as I was tryin to jam the arm in past the frame and tighten the bolts![]() ![]() ![]() rant over.. F4i Clutch Arm Mod ... Must Have - BirDMaN420 - 05-11-2012 Was also considering doing it the other day. Was gonna attempt to do it without taking the clutch cover off, but saw i wouldnt be able to swing the arm back cause the engine it in the way then :/ Decided to just fork out for RSC clutch instead F4i Clutch Arm Mod ... Must Have - M.F. Mall Cop - 05-11-2012 Ive already got an rsc just wanted even more buttery smoothness. Even if you take the clutch cover off, the frame and engine get in the way when you put it back on and try to swing it over. I had to tighten 2 of the bolts in the tiny little space inbetween the frame and engine. F4i Clutch Arm Mod ... Must Have - Nappy - 05-12-2012 Took me 5 minutes. Was the best mod I ever did on the f4i... But I did it mid rebuild when the engine wasn't in the frame. But if you're gonna change your oil, why not just take an extra 20 minutes and do this mod? Taking the clutch cover off and reinstalling is a walk in the park. F4i Clutch Arm Mod ... Must Have - PHOZE - 05-12-2012 Lol damn that sucks man. Why didn't you weld it instead? Mike M extended and welded mine. All I had to do was bend it down just a bit so it would clear the frame and then bend it straight once it did. Def a must have mod. +1 I didnt even take the oil out. I just layed it on the left side. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes then just did it. F4i Clutch Arm Mod ... Must Have - G-F4RCE - 07-02-2012 gona have to try this F4i Clutch Arm Mod ... Must Have - lee majors - 08-07-2012 i did it while the bike was upright without removing anything. first thing i did was grind off the rivet for the cable mount and removed the mount. then i used a donor arm and cut the top plate and mount off. then i drilled a hole in the donor plate and used a nut and bolt to secure it on top of the original arms(widened) rivet hole. tightened the nut down and welded the backside. done. if i remember right i kept as much material as i was able from the donor shaft plate. the bolt and nut just clear the bolt on the cover. i think it added between 1/2 and 5/8" in length F4i Clutch Arm Mod ...
