Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - Patient-zero - 03-21-2013 why ducktape on the forks ? Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - Stubbz63 - 03-21-2013 ^^ read above, did it for color change id assume. Noticed you put your tank kick lip right over top of the htmoto under it instead of cutting it out, been debating on how i wanna do mine but i think im gonna cut mine out under it so its all flush, i think itd stick and hold better also Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 03-21-2013 its just sitting there right now because i don't have any glue yet, its cut out and it sits flush on the tank. definitely cut it out it will look a lot better and feel better as well Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 03-21-2013 and yes the only reason i duct taped them was for a color change. like stubbz63 suggested im going to eventually wrap them black. Still Need: Steel brake lines all around, mini res, and brake hose Round Bar New cage hardware Seats will eventually get done Sprockets and chain going to have a fellow rider up here weld me up a radiator cage, the low profile ones with just some flat stock im probably going to weld on a steering stop because with out it shit is jsut getting banged up and i think thats about it Vic's 03/04 half steel frame RE-build - VicOnOne - 04-05-2013 Spent this morning in the lions den... ![]() i was here for a good reason though, i got my steel frame registered. it was actually a lot easier process than i thought. i didn't need to get it all the way street street legal and i kept some of my stunt parts on there. put one of my boys tanks on and seat cowl cause i didn't want them seeing the dent and a hole in the seat. and took of my second dual caliper. So i showed up with my bike in the back of the truck and i brought the tittle, registration, receipt from BADASS inc., and a letter from the motorcycle shop (that scrapped the front half of my frame) proving that it got taken care of. the woman looked and the paper work talked for a bit and then had me unload my bike and she stamped a vin for me, and gave a piece of paper that had the new one on it and proof of inspection, then i went to the DOL and gave them all the paper work and he printed me a new registration and the new tittle will come in a few weeks. only cost me $32 for everything!! a big stress relief getting this taken care of. now if i get caught wheeling i can get it back from impound lol. here is what the stuff looks like in WA (if the bike is already in your name, it is nice and easy to do) and it also confuses me on why you'd want to pay the extra money to get the vin on the frame from Billie in the beginning.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I know in some states its a bitch to get a custom frame vin issued. Florida being one of them from what ive heard you need an MCO/Statement of Origin or you wont be able to get it street legal. Some states will also title the bike as a Homebuilt or custombuilt. This makes it difficult when you try and get insurance as many insurance companies wont insure for homemade/custom frames.
