unfortuantly you're correct, they do offer little resistance to dripping some fuel, i've only had a few cases where fuel will just pour out of the tank but tha'st the reason i'm working with these new style valves. I just put one in a previous customers tank that was having overflow issues. I'd really like to test the performance on them before having more made but i feel pretty confident with them. Just so your aware the valves i'm using relieve pressure at 1psi so don't be surprised when you have a little pressure at the cap, but it should be a safe operating pressure to run if not then i will remedy it and get a lower PSI rated valve.

Mines ok for now as i mainly ride back n forth to work short trip and lot seshs, occasional short rides with a few guys on weekends but would be nice if it didn't leak at all incase i ever do a longer street ride with some normal riders i'll be stoppin every 50 miles to fill up and sometimes gas stations are few and far between so that could be a problem lol

I've been having the same problem with leakage I don't understand how with the vent tube being so high inside the tank, drill a pilot hole in the cap maybe?

I've had my tank almost siphon itself out a couple times during big temperature swings. When I was at lotwars was one of the times, there was a small trickling gas waterfall out of the bed of my truck when I walked out of my hotel in the morning.

If these new valves are going to work and anyone is having issues I will be glad to upgrade the valve at no cost and ill pay return shipping. Just gotta let me know. Just give me time to test them to be sure they won't create any new issues.
