I just re-did the tank dent on my F4i. I hated my O-town style dent. So i bought a tank and Did a Top Dent. I like this dent MUCH better! I need to buy more HT moto tank pad and lip for this tank as well.

Old Dent:

New Dent, With pictures of how i did the dent. Thanks Stunt Bum's! works perfect.

Started with a 2 lbs weight and a Cement block (in background).

After a few hits the gas cap caved inward and the dent started to form. Be careful while doing this It doesnt take long to bottom out on the inside of the tank.

And lastly i stopped any small creases as they formed and got them flat and continued working the rest of the dent with a hammer and rubber mallet.

After some bondo, sanding, paint and leftover tank grip!

And lastly mounted on the F4ez

My best dent to date! I planned on welding a lip on this one. But after a buddy was a idiot and put a hole in his tank. I rushed the finishing of mine so that he could mount my other tank on his F4i and still ride this season.

After riding with the tank. Im not even sure it even needs a lip anymore. Esspeacialy after putting a 1" HT moto lip on it. I think it will be money. It already words great. And is much more comfortable than my old dent.

Thank you, Ive dented multiple tanks a couple different ways and this is by far the best and easiest method, Just after each good solid blow make sure to check for high area's that look like they can form a crease. and before you continue take your hammer and flatten the high ridges out.

Most common area for the ridges to form are to the right and left near the upper portion of the gas lid.

That dent came out pretty nice man! Mine is about the same although yours is quite deep at the front too. Hows your lip? These f4i's are so long I have to move my lip forward and a bit higher. Thats just soooo much work

I just have to paint it and put some "Sikaflex" grip in!
