Sitdown Steve rides a 03/04 as well as Alex Flores..And the 03/04 is a WAY better bike with 05+ brakes/suspension and 2nd gear wont shit out every 6 mos. like the 05/06 as long as you dont clack into gear high idle.

Flores does ride an 05-06, as well as Jorian, Jesse Toler, many other US and euro killers. It is a great bike. I\'ve had mine since 07 with very little issues. I think the 03-04 was most popular because it feels most like an f4i, which is what more riders were switching from in the beginning. Both are good bikes. Parts for 03-04 are becoming more and more scarce. Many parts are interchangeable from 05-08\r\n

\r\n \r\n List of things I\'ve fixed on my 05 and upgrades. Spark plugs, coils, clutch, reinforced frame, fan runs all the time, clutch arm mod, rsc, atown steel subframe brace ( after breaking a subframe...weak garbage), get an r6 fan. My bike gets hot wayyyyyy too fast. Ill add more as I think about it

\nOh if u can\'t afford new rearsets modified 03-04 rearsets work great haven\'t broken em yet. But my 05s broke if I looked at them wrong so definately upgrade those\r\n

\r\n \r\n Might be a head valve gasket. I have this issue as well. Have had it ever since I got my 05. Rode for this whole season and still runs great! Also took some hard falls.\r\n

05 636 Build - dfwraptor - 08-12-2026

\r\n \r\n same here ive been riding it all season no problems. im guna check the oil and if their is water in it does that mean for sure cracked head?\r\n

05 636 Build - WheelieJoe - 08-12-2026

\r\n \r\n Clean the head, and you should see if it has a hair line crack. Look carefully.\r\n

\r\n \r\n I am pretty sure mine does not. This issue was when I first got my bike and it was never stunted. Stock FF bike. I looked as well and its no issues. Just the valve gasket. I had one go bad on my 08 but even worse, same look but more oil lol.\r\n
