I punctured my calf muscle last summer too. 3 weeks in a wheelchair/crutches. Took a month and a half before i could start riding again. Had to let the muscle heal and get the flexibility back. Couldn't point my foot up or stand strait cuz it was pulling on the tore muscle. Such a bash..

Ice, elevate and drink a lot of fluids.. That's one thing i didn't do enough of to keep the swelling down so the muscle could heal.

That sux bro. Heal up. I tore my calf muscle and that took me off my bike for 6 weeks. Doc said 6 months. Heal yourself.

Showed up at Tig's house today, the guy hadn't touched the bike since starting this thread, lol.

Checked that the throttle bodies were seated properly, swapped fuel pumps, swapped ecus and swapped the battery. The end result being that the bike still sounds like a sewing machine.

It doesn't make a nice constant noise as it's running, instead, it sounds like a sewing machine as the overall volume of the motor is constantly going up and down. Also, when you rev it just sitting in neutral instead of a nice vrrrrooooom you just get a veeeeeeehhhhhhhhmmmmm.

Someone suggested it may be running on 3 cylinders, but we threw water on all the headers and all 4 were hot.

Anybody have some other suggestions to try?

i would check to see if the secondaries are all working properly and that there arent any vacuum leaks ..

i assume when you say sewing machine you dont mean a ticking noise like a valve problem right ?
