cracked head - bforeman - 03-07-2011 That starting to look like a trend with the tyger sharks on the 03 04 cracked head - inolen - 03-07-2011 2 people with a TS and one with a Sick doesn't seem to make it a TS trend unless my math is worse than I thought ![]() I've ran a TS for over 3 years with no problem on my 636. cracked head - Bortner - 03-08-2011 Mine had Powers cage all though i dont like admiting that haha cracked head - StuntNick - 03-09-2011 +1, with two reported cases a TS cage isn't the problem. I would look more to yourself in terms off: 1. Retard engine mounting (when you mount an engine don't use a 50 inch pipe to tighten your motormount, ive seen people do it with this as an result on street bikes that don't even crash) 2. Sick ass crashing. (you can destroy anything if you just crash hard enough.) 3. A loose fitting cage is also a problem waiting to happen. 4. Plain bad luck. I ride TS for well over a year now and also no problems. Best cage I ever owned. But back ontopic. I would save big $$$$$$$$$$ and get myself a head and swap it out while giving your engine a service at the same time. cracked head - a2g2nv - 03-09-2011 you can have it welded. It's common practice in drag racing, but the process is different then you may think. The head has to be stripped bare, and hot tanked to clean. Afterwards they bake the entire head to bring the temp up, then weld and magnaflux the head to be sure they got it all. afterwards, the head needs to be decked flat, and have all parts reinstalled. Quite the hassle. cheaper and faster to buy a bare head. cracked head - ToKwik - 03-09-2011 Have two extra heads, complete, if you decide to go that route. They came off of running motors that were scavenged for other parts. They are used heads off of used motors. I can include the cams also so you don't have to go through that headache. I would recommend sending them to a machine shop to be planed and checked. cracked head - dlish - 03-10-2011 ![]() + ![]() + cracked head - old man roger - 03-10-2011 whoa easy on the hardener their buddy youre gonna make it brittle ..lol cracked head - kweb636 - 03-10-2011 Mine did the same thing!
