They are all owned by one guy Dave Bertram they offer stock options to employees and promis when it goes public they will be rich. I dont know they may have gone public by now but Frank Thomas invested tons of money into cycle gear thats when he opened tons of stores. When I worked for them there was only 10stores. Yeah I think D fucked it off for all stunters by fucking his doughter or something!! LOL J/K or did Kane steel her from him hahahahahaha

lisa frank just got a sex change and is now frank thomas

Most of CG staff knows as much about bikes as my niece who is 7. It is funny how they beg and plead for stunters to show up at their open houses or bikenights so they don't flop but when it comes to support a mag like stuntride they dont want anything to do with it.

haha CG gave me a pile of stickers when they mounted my tire this past fall, I kept one and left the rest on the front counter, making sure the employees saw me do this. "Hey Retro you can keep these". No thanks those stickers are really ugly. lol

Yeah the bike shop I worked at was the same way. HA-TED on stunting! Wouldn't support any sort of stunt parts or anything no matter how many dozens of inquiry calls or walk-in requests we had from customers, even every day. Way more than dirt or track stuff! They were so stupid.

Corprate is a pain. Buddy of mine managed the one in Charleston, SC. I learned a bit of the ins and outs of the company from him. Pretty much everything on there shelves is approved through corprate and most of the gear they sell is only sold with them because the manufacturers agreed to suport a liablity insurance plane through CG. In the event someone crashed their brains out and died or was severly tramatised and sued CG for selling the product. So basicly everything they do is cover their own ass and make sure the bottom dollar comes first. It's corprate.

I think a lot of things come down to the in store managment though. The one my buddy managed. he ordered whatever, offered rider discounts to the local guys. Put stunt vids and the occasional part in stock, along with a bunch of bling bike parts. Stuff that CG wouldn't typically sell. But he figured, if he had access to it through distibution and people wanted, why loose the money.

seems to me that to sum it up, cycle gear is a bunch of money grubbing faggots that dont care about anything else but money.

That is the general basis for most businesses though. It's called capitalism.
But along with capitalism comes the adjoining concept of free market, which means we as consumers can choose who we purchase from or not.
