Every school has a military rep, speak to them directly.
Then go speak to the VA again. And again, and again. Chances are it's just sitting on someone's desk.

When it comes deducting pay, leave dates, anything that involves taking from the soldiers it'll get processed in a heartbeat.
When it comes to processing what's entitled to you, they'll wait until after lunch.

I myself will be putting the new improved GI Bill to use coming spring.

It took the VA 3 months to send me my letter telling me I'm able to collect my GI bill.
Get on the VA's ass and don't let up. Best of luck to you.

With the new GI Bill coming into effect this year,
they were overwhelmed with applications. That too could be a factor.

It's really not all that hard.. I would suggest applying online a few months before school starts. If you're eligible for the ch33 heres how it works..

1. YOu submit your application for benifits online and make sure you print out the fully filled out copy at the end.

2. Fill out the required VA paperwork for the school and give the VA person at the school your copy of your application and they will submit their paperwork which is the verification of enrollment and some other stuff. You'll need to have registered for your classes to fill this out as you put the classes on the VA paperwork and that's how they submit your verification of enrollment.

The gibill pays the school the $ directly. You'll eventually get a letter in the mail stating what they're going to pay you and the school. Mine told me it already paid the school and how much I'll get for books and my monthy BAH allowance.

Takes about 6-8weeks to process

To qualify for the monthly BAH which is E5 w dependants allowance you have to take atleast 7credit hrs and one class has to be at the school location. So you can't just take all online classes.

Didn't have an issue with schools but they did "over pay" me. They stated that I should not have gotten my very last payment and ended up wanting it back. I didn't pay it, kinda ignored it, and they eventually kept part of a tax return instead. Just an FYI..
