here in california it needs to secured such as a fence that locks, but even with that there are manyways the cops can still get you.

If you have written permission from the owner of the property and liability waivers, and also have no public access to the lot i.e. blocking the driveways, then there should be no problem from the law. Tell them to kick rocks!!!
