i work at a bodyshop and deal with airbags but i don't deal with codes and what have you, have you had any impacts anywhere near any of the airbag sensors? or like lethal rider said it could be a seat belt or the cartridge go off in the seat belt or a sensor got tripped. its sounds like to me that someone had a smaller accident that really didn't fuck the car but was enough to fuck up a sensor somewhere and that all depends on what happened to the car and where it happened, if thats not the case then i don't know and finding a shop thats gonna tell you how to do that is gonna be hard because of liability reasons. tear your dash apart and take out the cluster and look at the back is another option.

I've had the interior completely out of this thing. Traced all wires. It doesn't have the seat belt sensors. Both airbags were replaced the computer for the air bag system was replaced and cleared. No accidents that I know of but the guy I got it from is gone so there's no asking either. I was hoping someone here would happen to be an electrician and could tell me what relay or resistor or chop or some shit I could rig up to it to make it shut off after a few seconds just so it will pass the damn german inspections. They are fuckin Hitler when it comes to inspecting Americans cars over here. Can't have any rust or dents or any body damage. They failed my old cb1000 because he said the bar end mirrors were ugly . The inspections are ridiculous here.

ok was the airbag itself replaced or the air bag sensor that are generally like somewhere around radiator support and other places depending how many air bags are in the car. cause you can good have airbags in the car and if you got a fcked up sensor i could see that fckin it up making the airbag light come on. is there any light damage on the front of the car like someone hit the something with bumper. you might want to get on the VW forums like http://forums.vwvortex.com/

Bags and sensors both been replaced. The entire airbag system is brand new. But for some reason the light stays on. If I take it to the shop they check the codes and get nothing reset the computer and it stays off for about 3 days or 35 minutes of driving . It's a damn gremlin in there but I just need to know a way to wire the light so it will shut off using a relay or resistor or anything that's all. Again I repeat nothing wrong with the system just a retarded light.

simple...remove cluster...remove airbag light bulb. problem solved. VW/Audi airbag systems hate cold weather also. So if it gets really cold the light will come on and it will keep coming on no matter what you do until it warms up outside.

If I do that then it won't come on like it's supposed to and won't shut off like it's supposed to so it still won't pass inspection. I tried that already.

Had it checked by the mechanics again and they said it finally threw a code which said it wasn't getting enough voltage. I told the guy the car sat for 9 months without a battery and he said that would cause it. Reset it and it's been off a week now. Finally got it to throw a code and finally got that damp light off so it finally passed inspection
