Dual Ratio sprocket. - standupnfall - 07-08-2013 Craig Latimer Dual Ratio sprocket. - B-rup - 07-09-2013 Guru posted a picture of having one a while back. Seen like 2 others on fb. Havent seen any updates on positive or negatives of it though Dual Ratio sprocket. - Will215 - 07-09-2013 thats a pretty bad ass idea, its like a mountain bike with different gear ratios now Dual Ratio sprocket. - standupnfall - 07-09-2013 There are actually unicycles with a planetary setup built into the hub so you can shift on the fly by pushing in on the hub. Mountain bikes generally do not use planetary gears. Dual Ratio sprocket. - NickLAudio - 07-09-2013 I just helped install a DRS on my friends bike. Thing is built really strong and like JohnnyP said it's a bit heavy. It's not only the sprocket though, you get new rear axle, swingarm mount for the bolts for "stunt" mode w/ a puck slider on it, and the sprocket itself so it it does add some weight. BUT the whole system is spot on, no hesitation or "slack" in the stunt mode. Front wheel snaps right up like a big sprocket should. Don't really know much about the internals but the only down side of that system I can see is buying a replacement sprocket ring for it IF or WHEN the company goes out of business. Dual Ratio sprocket. - ROWDY - 07-09-2013 Nor will they ever post pics of the internals if they are smart. They have a one of a kind product that Im willing to bet is tough as nails. Its just like an automatic transmission planetary system. I have seen the exploded version on a computer and damn its serious. Everything is to a very specific tolerance and tight. I cant believe anyone actually went through all of that to make that product but damn is it cool looking inside. Dual Ratio sprocket. - standupnfall - 07-09-2013 Yes, I can imagine what it looks like as I am familiar with planetary gear systems. I am really into the system, it fits my needs perfectly. Just want to hear more user feedback before I dive in. I commute 30 miles each way a couple times a week and my spot is on the way home 10 miles from my house. Cruise at 5K RPMs with stock like gearing. then swap the bolts to go +20. Dual Ratio sprocket. - PHOZE - 07-09-2013 Did the rear axel throw off the hb bracket at all? Or the fit was also snug? And yea them going out of business would really suck. Unless they specialize on something else besides building these. I'm having mix feelings right now. Some of you guys made some real valid positive points and others made some valid negative ones. Dual Ratio sprocket. - JohnnyP - 07-09-2013 when I first went on their website there was a parts list with a cad drawing of all the internals Dual Ratio sprocket. - ~03~raven - 07-09-2013 Yeah I remember that. I posted it in one of the DRS threads on here. Looked for a minute but couldn't find it. I look somemore I think I posted it in a thread by old man Jimmy. |
