Took the entire master apart today after work and found a little bit of schmagma, looked like solidified brake fluid. But other then that its clean as a whistle inside. Took the bleeder and banjo out as well. Looking at it the russel Banjo 90* fitting has a lip on both sides with a small channel in the middle for the fluid to pass through. I used the depth gauge on a set of vernier calipers to see what the amout of lip was until it was to the recess where the fluid goes and its off. I would work if i didnt use crush washers...but that wouldnt do me any good anyways cuz it'd just leak. FUCK...going to the parts store tomorrow and buying the Russel specific banjo bolts for the Russel lines i put on. ill order new washers while im at it.

Hope that fixes the problem. The solidified brake fluid may have come from using different types of brake fluid, you're supposed to clean all the old brake fluid out of the system out between changes.

I'm pretty sure I had most of it out. before I took my lines off I opened the bleeder on the caliper and used the master to push most of the fluid out. Then replaced all lines and resy line and cup. But I'm pretty sure my issue is the damn stock bolt in the Russell fitting. only thing I can find wrong.

i know a bunch of you have mentioned not to do that. Not challenging it but just curious what the reason is to not. i know you have to have room for air and expansion, guess i'm trying to learn here. will fluid expand so much when really using hard brakes in the lot that it will make your brakes have constant pressure or something else fade mybe? I've always used R6 rear brake reservoirs on all of my previous handbrake systems. I've never used a tiny brembo resy up until right now (which i did not fill completely) but the diaphram is a lot different than what my R6 resys are. I've always filled mine up until they are about to overflow and put the cap on, it does overflow but the groove inside the r6 diaphram forces a big air bubble no matter what. The lil resy diaphram i think is flat in the center so im thinkin it wont push out the proper fluid needed to have the right amount of air. I'm only curious on this cuz i've done this countless times since 2006 and ive never had any brake issues or ever had a brake fade etc.

have i never had an issue because of the shape of that r6 diaphram not being flat in the center or because i was generally a much more street stunter than a lot stunter and dont use anywhere near as much brake as lot stunters do etc. just tryin to satisfy my curiosity here. i did however use my same r6 resy on my wr250x that i lot stunted a bunch and really used a lot of brakes on, but something about that lil brembo resy diaphram struck me as odd right off the bat when i just got them for my R6 so i chose to not fill it completely. i was always worried about air movin up into the master mid wheelie thats why i tried to get them quite full.

Well just ordered the Russel Banjo Bolts for the front brake system. Bought all 3 @ $11 a piece. What the hell, are they coated in fuckin gold? Probably made specificly that way so you have no choice to buy their shit so ya have to spend more money. So itll have all Russel Lines, Bolts, Banjo Fittings, and Banjo Bolts...hope to god its all thats wrong. Because i sure as shit cant find anything else wrong with it.

$11 each holy fuck you picked the wrong brand to order to start with i guess. i paid $20 for 2 normal single bolts and 1 double bolt from chuck. for what you have into those lines you coulda probly ordered colored ones from hel that come with banjo bolts for each fitting lol

I can't tell you why it happens to some reservoirs and not to others, but yes the fluid can get hot and expand causing the brakes to lock up.
For future reference, almost every city has a store that sells hydraulic hose. They carry every type of banjo bolt known to man for a hell of a lot cheaper than 11 bucks a piece, probably more like 3 bucks a piece.
