i lube mine up after everytime i wash it. once every couple weeks if i didnt ride in the rain. use a good grease that doesnt break down as easy and you should be fine.

This is gonna sound funny but I would clean my chain when it sounded like it needed it..lol

I know thats not really any help but it's all I can really say, to me it would sound dry so I would clean and lube it.

Probably worked out to be every couple weeks riding 4 nights a week.

As far as the chain touching the swing arm goes, that doesn't really make any sense to me. Different sprockets are going to put the chain in different positions. You want at least 1 inch of play, thats a half inch up and a half inch down.

Always make sure the chain doesn't get too tight when the suspension moves. .
