Get an aftermarket stay, those plastic joints crack quick. Get a subframe brace. Cut the pegs down to the feelers, unscrew them and grind smooth and u wont have to worry about breaking rearsets with a decent cage. I liked stock clip ons flipped omr subcage but u cant get them anymore and SI or Atown for a cage have always done me well.

Why wouldn't you need all the good parts when you start? Especially on the 05-06 there fragile as fuck and when your learning people are dropping there shit hard at least I did...

maybe this format would help. if i were to go out and buy an 05/06 636 this is what my parts list would look like.

First and formost and RSC clutch lever
Sickinnovations cage and subcage
60T 520 rear sprocket stock front and 520 of course
Atown round bar w/braces
FTI dual quad backet w/line
Brembo 16x18 hand brake
adjustable clipons either sick, RSC or convertibars
ESD rearsets
aftermarket fairing stay

This is my personal list of what i'd get give or take but you get the idea. When i first started i bought my bike brought it home and didn't ride it til i had everything, maybe not the best way but I just liked knowing I had everything i needed even before i could even hold idle.

bored at work so i thought why not!

Well I can half way ride guys most ppl around my area all think I'm good, but I'm far from that in my opinion. Ok my first problem is I'm not finding no round bar for my bike??? I talked to atown and he said his bar and brace go on a sick or omr subframe?? I don't want beat it to death I just want have that confidece that when I do drop it I aint going get sick and have buy all kinds stuff. And don't worry I'm going buy what I want for my bike . Just wish I done a lil more searching way more stuff for the 03-04

Im setting up an 05 636 also. I was told to run a stock exhaust and not get a round bar.. maybe just braces... although i need more opinions before i decide. NDCustomz has a nice round bar. also stunterx.com
i jumped on a 05 636 coming from a setup 04 gsxr. dont worry about the 03/04 vs 05/06 thingy. i like them both and of course the 03 is better to learn on, but i always liked the looks of the 05 better... i would buy all the stuff(hb and brackets, etc.), but still concentrate on learning footbrake, then try to learn from other riders around the area..
