dont matter who is driving ur shit. if they are family and they got a key means they basically got your permission. call it stolen if u are really trying to pull one over. or just suck it up this time and dont make the mistake again

Should've got a lawyer. They'll try to pull that shit over on you but that in most cases is far from the truth. Been there a couple of times some bikes and once with a car that I sold the people never transferred. Nothing ever stuck. Then on a second bike I had the same thing but the kid ran and they got the plates. I didn't have a bill of sale but I could show them the deposit in my bank, when I canceled insurance (which they even documented the reasons I stated I was canceling the policy was because I sold it, so that helped I'm sure). The burden of proof is on the state. And don't call it in stolen that's filing a false police report if you do that and just catching yourself an even worse charge. Would be better off saying you are trying to sell the bike and that you let someone test ride it if you are going to lie about it.

Back on topic. What she did was illegal and probably broke the rules of the police department. Off duty cops arent allowed to just chase after people whenever they want.

Actually of duty cops are still cops. No she couldnt give a ticket after the fact but they can pursue a vehicle if a crime is bein commited. My brother is asst cheif of police local. That being said the department would have her ass for chasing with an under age child in the car. I have been with my brother while hes off duty and pulled people over and waited till an on duty officer came and arrested them.(drunk driver slammed a pole at my business and took off lol)

My bro is a cop and when me and him ride if a cop tries to stop us he looks at me and we take off lol. He's one of the cool ones.

He was in an undercover car. But like I said by law they can pull you over. I don't stop for cops and neither does he lol. If you stop here in Florida they nail you to the wall for stupid stuff. I don't even ride with a tag so screw them lol

you can do that and get away with it?!

And she was just in her daily civilian car there was no way that i could have known she was a cop, no lights or sirens what so ever. That crazy bitch just chased me out in the country.

A few months ago I pulled into work and an off duty cop was there getting his car worked on or something. He told me he could impound my bike just because it didn't have a headlight. Is that right??? He said in tx, cops can pull you over and take your shit if you dont have a headlight. He was cool about it and didn't do anything but i thought it was bull shit.

Federal law states that any motorcycle since 1976 ( I believe, mid 70's though) has to have a headlight on at all times.

If that is an impound-able offense I do not know... probably a scare tactic more than likely.... definitely a ticket-able one..

i once gave a car that cut me off at a light the finger. 2 plain cloths detectives got out pretended to shoot me in the face with their fingers and told me "thats the gangster that just put 2 38 slugs in your face. then they told me they'd mail me some tickets. couple days later 2 tickets in the mail.
cops do whatever they wanna do man.
