steering damper to the max??

I put my steering damper to the max, then almost crashed riding in a straight line

cheers bud. Yeah I've got to the stage where I feel like I really need to work hard to eeek out those extra few feet. I'm practicing from a 120foot run up as that's about the general competition distance...

what bike are you riding, r6? what you really wanna do is get your suspension tuned in if you really wanna roll. or get a 954 lol!! get progressive forksprings for your weight and go play with the rebound and compression. compression stiffer then stock but not too stiff. you want the front end to dive a bit to transfer the weight correctly. but use a lot of rebound because you want the forks to stay down for the most part..

run the damper stiff, but not TOO stiff. you still want to to be able to steer the bike and correct it.

just go out with these basic ideas/settings, and a flathead and write down what happens when you change the settings. rolling long is science, skill and balllls..
