Questions on WR250X.. - Jake762 - 07-13-2012 All i have left to buy is a DCB, footbar, hopefully SS plate! I actually bought a dirt cheap 52t sprocket just to see how I like it. If it's overkill I'll pick up a quality 49t. But yea, it's a lot/city terrorizing bike and it'll go on the 50mph max to get to the lot which is 2 minutes from my house. I got to go ride for just a little bit yesterday when the rain cleared for 30 minutes. I can totally see what everyone was saying about it being like a big 50. Right now everything is still stock with no idle mods either so doing slow wheelies was a little tricky (for me at least; being used to the old f4i's 3k idle pull). I'm probably just really rusty. I sold my F4i half a year ago and haven't even been on a bike until now. On this bike, will turning up the idle help the choppyness of the throttle? When I brought up a slow wheelie to BP i made the mistake of closing the throttle a couple times and even when getting back into the gas the slightest bit it felt like the bike would bog for a second and then get too much power causing me to have to jam the brake a bit starting a neverending cycle of chasing bp and then hanging out behind bp. Questions on WR250X.. - Jake762 - 07-13-2012 EDIT: I just went and bought a 49t sprocket. haha Questions on WR250X.. - Stubbz63 - 07-13-2012 i wouldnt even ride my bike without the idle cable mod done, i rode mine once and absolutely hated it, the engine brake its stupid even for off roading it makes you almost crash every time you let off the throttle. thatll all go away with the idle mod for sure. mine was 13/49 and it worked great for learning and you can still cruise if you need to. i had 13/50 for a while and it was a hair to much for the 10 mile trip to and from work at anything over 55mph. now im at 14/49 and love it for everything, circles are boggier but im good at everything now so i can deal with slippin the clutch when i need to but i can cruise 65-70mph all day without it screaming to bad. 13/49 mine would clutch up in 4th on the back pegs on streets, it wont with 14/49 but im a small guy and i have the eibach rear spring on my shock which is much stiffer so it eliminates the bounce but makes it take more effort to get it up in higher gears. take your air box door off for a decent improvement in power also if your not running in the dirt a lot. Questions on WR250X.. - Jake762 - 07-13-2012 I'll see if the airbox mod has been done or not. Will I be good in the rain doing this? What kind of settings are you running on your FMF programmer? I had some weird bogging issues about 2 minutes into my ride to work today and couldnt accelerate at all for a few seconds. Other than that one time issue though it actually feels kinda quick for the engine size. Questions on WR250X.. - Stubbz63 - 07-13-2012 itll feel much better with gearing, stock feels like poop lol. not sure what my settings are but get on supermotojunkie.com or www.250forummotion.com theres a few threads in there about the settings. you should be ok with the door off in light rain n such. i cleared the top hole out in my air box where the flapper is and ran like that for a year then decided to take my door off and it ran even better so ive left it, i ride sometimes home from work in light rain but thats about all. Questions on WR250X.. - ajbsays - 07-14-2012 i had a serious bog issue when i first bought mine it was completly stock.. i would gas it and it would bog then catch it was weird, powercommander 5 and auto tune on here! and fixed the problem instantly i was like wow! i gotta try to remove the air box door i did the same air filters as stubbz , but yo talking about those frame sliders when i crashed on the james st LOL you bet that right side t-rex frame slider has been slid down a little, barely notice the damage.. those 50 stunt solid foot pegs are the truth!!!! stubbz great touch with those side guards on the hand guards, everytime i crashed i bought new sides LMAO because of the rashes..... but those things are saving me a ton of money! but those foot peg brackets are breaking on me so i bought about 8 foot brackets from yamaha lol!! and spare 50 stunt pegs fresh in the bag still for the next crash lol... anyways LOT SUNDAY! heal that hand up . you gotta teach me some new shit! Questions on WR250X.. - Jake762 - 07-16-2012 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-WR250...fa3518&vxp=mtr What do you guys think of that? I'd rather buy used or fab one but don't really have access to tools like that.. Questions on WR250X.. - ajbsays - 07-16-2012 LMAO THAT IS MY BIKE IN THE PICTURE!!!! you need to buy one of those!!!! they are sooo much more simple then the one stubbz has! buy that and rieguy is a great seller and rider! Questions on WR250X.. - Stubbz63 - 07-16-2012 so much more simple than mine, but mine looks a ton better and cleaner and weighs less than a third of that monster thing lol. but unless you can fab your best off to go with the bolt on style. i love mine and am very glad i did it the way i did but thats an easy way to get one on your bike aj let me get one of those left side foot peg mounts, mines still a little bent up from one of my first crashes i just never replaced it lol |
