I looked at the t3i but bought the t2i instead, I stepped up from rebel xt and wow huge difference, I love using mine, bought a grip for it, and use my sigma 17-70 2.8 lens, works wonders

^ nice! yeah I stepped it up from an XT too. still have the XT as a back up and dedicated still camera. looking to do mostly video with the t3i. the past several days I've been looking at various rigs, stereo mic's, LED lights and figuring out how I want to configure my system. theres so much available it makes the decision making process really tough! so far all I have is a couple batteries and a few lenses, lol.

EFs 18-55mm

RODE Video mic
Alzo Transformer rig with handle
Rokinon 8mm UltraWide FishEye for Canon EF mount

its great for vids, but ive found with the mic on the camera, you can hear yourself manually focusing lol. so i highly recommend an outboard mic

its tits so far! took me a while to figure out that I need to convert file formats before editing, or switch to a Mac. once I got the conversion process and a workflow figured out, editing wasn't nearly as frustrating. but the camera itself is bad ass! without dropping a major investment on a full frame set up, couldn't be happier.

Thats awesome, I have a store credit at best buy since they are replacing my last camera under a service plan. Any advice on how to pick the t3i up? I was thinking just the body and then search for some decent lens instead of going for the bundle with body, lens, bag. Thoughts?

Hey Austin,
Great buy!
I've got the Rode mic. it works much better than the on board mic.
If you looking at getting that Alzo rig to improve hand held type steady shots I would recommend not pulling the trigger on the Alzo rig because it doesn't really do much and it is a pain to work with all of the adjustments. and it just plum not worth the price.
You should look into getting a GlideCam or FlyCam Nano. The Glidecam is a bit pricey so if your on a budget like I am all the time you should look at the Flycam. You can get some pretty smooth shots once you get the hang of it.
I use the Glidecam at work and own the Flycam personally.
