R6 Cracked Head!!! Frame Flexing? Motor Swap Questions - Graveyard - 10-21-2011

I watched my buddy punch a hole on his 03 R6 last summer at the lot. He was running an FI cage that mounted to the same spot. I think he just stopped riding after that not even sure if he fixed it or sold it! frame looked fine but he had oil gushing out of the head!

get the new atc cage......
and get a new frame!!!!!! push that head back even and have a shop reweld it. do not plate it becuase it WILL warp. its to thin of cast and it will f that head up.

doest need spring loaders with the new cage....the new mounting points are 100% better and actually go into the block instread of the head. DO NOT use that old frame. you will break heads like crazy. those 2 front mounts on that head have to be at a right width or it will keep breaking. salvage the head while you still can becuase these motors and motor parts are expensive to fix

i was thinking of trying to porto-power that ear of the frame back out and fitting it on the new motor til it slides on smooth. Onces thats done, weld it a support brace that would cover and extend the mount down and around the mount? not a good idea? or just start fresh, buy a new one

this should work with smoothing the ear down till the frame slides over the motor smooth but id be kinda careful with welding the frame it might weaken it

yea thats what ill prolly do, just get a salvaged frame and put my numbers on it since this bike is allready has a reg. and i dont wanna spend a crazy ammount of money on another frame and title

just get a "race" frame.....stamp kits are 50 bucks and people sell "blank" frames for dirt cheap.......these motors start at 800 bucks, the head start at 200........200 is a blank frame shipped to your door with out the mess

just and update
well i got around to painting the frame/wheel stuff up and got it back togeather this weekend, took it for a quick ride seems back to normal with new frame and motor. Working on getting the rest of the body painted up, took a quick cellphone pic before i rode. Thanks again for Atown and hookin me up with a new cage,!!
