I had the same problem. my boy put me on to the '04 600rr clutch cable.

Like Phoze said the 03/04 600rr cable is the best for the F4i. Its the perfect length for flipped clip ons. My F4i cable would get stuck on the radiator cap cause it was too damn long but you wont have that problem with the 600rr
and you wont need zippy ties with the 600rr cable.
